Seven Plus

Seven has been a very lucky number for the past two nights! On most nights Chloe will do a pretty large stretch of sleep, usually 5-6 hours. But for the past two nights she has done at least a 7 hour stretch! Last night Mike fed her at 9:45pm, she fell right to sleep after, and didn't wake up to eat until 6am! The night before, she ate at 10pm and didn't wake up to eat again until 5:30am. This has been very nice for especially me because I came down with this yucky cold! I must note, that Chloe sleeps MUCH better in her swing! We are so thankful for her swing!!! We also should probably thank her pediatrician for 'diagnosing' her with reflux and finding the right medication for her because it seems to be helping. She has not been in nearly as much pain as she was before, and she is not needing to be held 24/7 anymore either! We are very thankful to have our Chloe back!!! :)
And onto Maddie... she has been saying the funniest things lately. I always call Mike and my mom and tell them as soon as she does say her little 'funnies', but I really need to start writing them down. There are a few, so if you get to the bottom, congratulations! But I want to write them down more for myself to remember the things she says! The other day we were at my mom's, Maddie came and told me, "My hungry mom". This is a very common statement coming out of her mouth for the past few weeks. I probably hear it AT LEAST 10 times a day, no joke!! Here's how it went...

Maddie: My hungry mom.
Me: Go finish your noodles, they are sitting on the table.
Maddie: No, something different my hungry.

Are you kidding me? We were laughing so hard! Seriously, she is already telling me she's hungry for something different???

At church today, we had our children's primary program. Maddie wanted to go up with the kids so badly!

Maddie: My go up with the kids mom?
Me: No Maddie, you have to wait until you're a little bigger.
Maddie: When I'm bigger mom? (thinking really hard about it)
Me: Yes Maddie, when you're bigger.
Maddie: (standing up very tall) Mommy, my bigger now! Daddy, my go up with the kids now!

It's so cute to watch her really think about things and come to a conclusion! So we sat back on our bench and Maddie 'sang' every song with the kids! I had to 'shush' her a few times because her singing was just a little too loud!
After church, Maddie was eating her lunch. When I came back to the room, I saw her taking a few shirts out of my basket of FOLDED laundry clothes that I didn't get to putting away last night, and throwing them on the ground.

Me: Maddie, that's really naughty. Mommy has asked you not to touch the clothes.
(She ignores me, and keeps throwing them out, so I walked over to her and picked her up)
Maddie: You take me to time-out mom?
Me: Yes Maddie, you are going to sit in time-out for 2 minutes because you didn't listen to mommy....

As you can probably tell, Maddie has seen a lot of 'time-outs' lately, she already knows the routine! I have been trying to be very consistent with her lately because she has just been so naughty. (Might have something to do with the amount of TV she has been watching since her toys are all packed up except for one little dollhouse! Poor girl, I do feel a little sorry for her! But it hasn't been so bad, we have just been spending more time at grandma's house playing with all of her toys!)

Last week we were sitting on the couch and Maddie farted really loud. She turns to me with a HUGE grin on her face and says, "You hear that mom? You hear that sound?" Thanks to her father, Maddie is very proud of the lovely sounds she can make with her body!

The Happiest Place On Earth

Yep, we booked it already (actually nine days ago to be exact)! We are going to Disneyland next year and can hardly wait! I know, next September is a LONG ways away, but we have been 'planning' this since the day we came back the last time! After all, Disneyland is 'the happiest place on earth'!

Mike and I may actually be more excited then Maddie... It's a close one though! Maddie talks about going all the time. She loves to watch her Disneyland sing-along movie. She especially loves to watch the home video of herself at Disneyland last year. And Mike LOVES to watch it with her! She giggles all the way through it.

We are excited that this time we will go for a whole week, and hopefully we won't all have colds again! We'll cross our fingers!
Crazy to think that when we go, Chloe will be just about Maddie's size here!

Anyway, a very random post, but I needed to take a break from packing for a minute, (I am QUEEN of stalling!) and Maddie was just talking about it when I put her to bed tonight so it was on my mind!! :)

Family Update

Things in the Dudley house have been pretty crazy lately! We have been packing like crazy... ok, honestly, Mike has done most the packing, and he has been packing like crazy! But don't worry, I haven't sat back watching my soaps, eating my bon bons (I wish, huh??) I have been taking care of the girls, they aren't fun to pack with, cleaning the house, laundry, organizing, all that busy work!
Our house is pretty packed up with the exception of the things we will need in the next week and the furniture we are still using. I was a little bummed when Mike decided to pack up the family room first, packing ALL of Maddie's toys from that room, which are her favorites that she played with everyday! But it's hard to complain when I really haven't had to do much of the packing. So Maddie has been watching A LOT of TV (bad mom, I know!), and playing with the few toys from her bedroom. She has been in HEAVEN going to grandma's lately though, grandma just found TONS of toys she saved from when Christian was little. She has quite the 'Little People' city going on, which are Maddie's favorites!!! So, we'll be spending a lot of time at grandma's house until we move! Maddie is going to have MAJOR grandma withdrawals when we move. She already asks to go over there every waking moment!

Our exhaustion we have had lately isn't all to blame on preparing for the move. Our poor little Chloe has been so upset and fussy, and our favorite, the projectile vomit, the past couple weeks. We have seen the doctor a couple times and tried a few different prescriptions. Her doctor saw her today and confirmed that she does have REFLUX! Poor, poor Chloe! Mike and I get so sad to see her so uncomfortable! Hopefully this medicine will help relieve some of her discomfort, and hopefully she will outgrow this soon!!!
On a positive note, lots of times babies who have reflux have a hard time gaining weight, and often times even lose weight. Chloe definitely does not fall under this category! The nurses and doctors were pleasantly surprised by her weight gain. Just last Wednesday, at 5 weeks, Chloe weighed in at 9lbs, 9oz. Today, at 6 weeks, she weighs 10lbs, 4oz! Way to grow, Chloe!!! She goes back for one last follow-up with her doctor on Tuesday.
At six weeks, Chloe is still very smiley! We have even caught her little 'coos' every now and then. Maddie still loves her little sister, sometimes too much! She is very proud of her, and loves to show her off to anyone who will pay attention. Chloe is still wearing her newborn size clothing, although she will probably outgrow soon because of the length. She is also still wearing newborn diapers, and thanks to her cousin Katelynn and her sweet chunky legs, we still have quite the stash of newborn sized diapers!

Taking Pictures

I had Chloe sitting in her little bouncy seat this morning and thought I'd snap a few pictures of her. Of course Maddie thought she should go get her camera and take some pictures as well. Can you guess what happened next? Well, you don't need to, just scroll down and take a look at the pictures!

To start, I get pictures with Chloe staring in Maddie's direction because for some reason she's always staring at her sister when she's around. (It's actually pretty cute!)But when Chloe turned her head the other way, Maddie was telling her to turn her head back towards her so she could take her picture... since Chloe listened about as well as Maddie does most of the time (she didn't!), Maddie proceeded to 'help' her turn her head! Chloe really seemed to like that, as you can see from the picture! Maddie didn't seem to think it was a problem! This is when I decided we were done taking pictures. I took Chloe out so her sister couldn't bug her anymore and next thing you know...Maddie decided to sit in Chloe's seat and have her picture taken. But since she is two, she could hardly sit still long enough for me to take it!
As a little side note: I took Chloe to the doctor yesterday because she has had a very goopy eye for a while now and they prescribed some eye drops for her. But while we were there they weighed her. At 5 weeks old, Chloe is weighing in at 9lbs, 9oz! Way to go Chloe!!! As for Maddie, she seriously was a perfect angel at the doctor's office! When I was talking to the doctor, Maddie was so quiet I actually forgot she was even there for a minute. And for those of you who know Maddie, know that she is ANYTHING but quiet. Even her 'quiet' voice is loud. I was definitely a proud mom when the doctor commented on her great behavior and when I turned around to look, she had just been sitting there in the chair the entire time reading books! Times like that sure make up for those 'not-so-pleasant' times!

Trip To Oregon

Saturday Chloe took her very first trip. Ok, it was only three and a half hours away, but it was still her first trip! We drove down to Hillsboro for Katelynn's blessing. It was a very nice, but very short trip, as we drove back home Sunday evening! Parker did a great job on Katelynn's blessing. And of course, Maddie couldn't be happier to see Parker and Jackson... her two favorites from that family (sorry Brooklynn and Katelynn, but sometimes we gotta face the facts! :)

Once again, I wasn't so good at taking pictures, so I will post some more of that cute family when I 'steal' some pictures from my mom!

One Month Old

Can you believe she has been here for a month???

And we have loved every minute of it!

Maddie and Scout

I know these aren't the greatest pictures, and the lighting is horrible, but this was the funniest thing ever! We were at my mom's house and all the sudden we heard Maddie getting mad at Scout, but it was a very sad voice that she was getting mad at him. So my mom ran downstairs to see what was going on, since it's not often Maddie is not happy with Scout. They are usually the 'best of friends'. Next thing I hear is my mom calling for me to bring the camera down. This is what I found...
Scout was originally sitting right next to Maddie, and she was 'reading' a book to her. But when Scout got up and walked away, was when Maddie wasn't so happy with her anymore. She was actually really sad telling Scout (almost crying), "come back scout, come back". It was so cute! So of course, my mom made Scout go back and sit by Maddie so she could finish reading her book to her.

Grandma's Cupcakes

Maddie just loves to go to grandma's and help her or auntie Heather cook. She helps Heather make brownies almost every Sunday. Well yesterday, Maddie decided that she and grandma were going to make cupcakes for Maddie's birthday party. Yes, Maddie's birthday was back in May, but I guess she is still celebrating! (She is one smart cookie!)

So as soon as she woke up from her nap, she went straight to work to help grandma make those cupcakes! I was in feeding Chloe while they were cooking, but grandma said Maddie did a great job!
