Disney On Ice

On Thursday Maddie and I went to Disney on Ice, along with my aunt Deb, and cousins Hilary & Amanda. We really made a night of it by starting out going to dinner to 'The Roof' at the Joseph Smith Building. It was absolutely amazing! I have only been there once, many years ago, after my parents were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. The view was incredible! After dinner we headed off to Disney on Ice. Our tickets were great! We were almost center in the stadium, just 5 rows up!!Maddie was sitting on the edge of her seat most of the time.... the rest of the time she was on her feet trying to ice skate like the princesses! She was starting to get pretty tired towards the end, but would still jump up and get excited when any of her favorite characters came out.Maddie threw her blanket over her before we left the parking lot, and by the time we got out on the road, we didn't hear another peep! We had a GREAT time! Maddie is still telling everyone about going to Disney on Ice and watching them ice skate!

3 Months Old

Chloe is 3 months old today! Holy Cow!!! And man, is she growing!!! She is well over 12 pounds now!

Chloe is wearing 3-6 month clothing, although I don't think she'll be wearing it for much longer.
Chloe loves sucking her hands and loves playing with her little toys now!
Chloe especially loves her sister, and Maddie very much loves her back! It's the cutest thing when Chloe is crying and Maddie will tell me she's going to "cheer" Chloe up. I love hearing Maddie in next to Chloe's bed singing songs to her.
Sometimes Maddie calls Chloe "baby-heart". It must be a combination of 'baby' and 'sweetheart', maybe?! I have no idea, but Mike and I laugh every time we hear it! It is so dang cute! The funny thing is, neither one of us ever say 'sweetheart' so who knows where that came from!
Chloe loves to talk and also loves to be talked to.
Chloe has also started to really enjoy the TV! It's so funny to catch her distracted by it when it's on. It doesn't matter if it's Maddie's cartoons or Daddy's football, she'll watch it! But she seems to like Maddie's bright colored cartoons better!

Mike and I are both so in love with our girls! We thoroughly love every minute we get with them, even those times when I feel like pulling my hair out! I am pretty sure I have the cutest little babies in the world!!! (Yes, Maddie is STILL my baby!!)

Sleeping Girls

My mom has told me many times that I was a very easy baby. She said when it was time for me to sleep all she would have to do is lay a blanket over me, covering my face, and I would go to sleep. Some things never change... to this day, I still like to sleep completely covered up with a blanket over my head!
Chloe
So maybe my girls got this weird thing from me. Yes, BOTH my girls sleep with blankets over their heads, since about the time they were born. They usually wouldn't fall asleep unless it was over their face! Maddie hasn't really slept like that much since she's gotten older, but I couldn't help but laugh (and take a picture) when I checked on her during her nap and found her like this....

W is for Wolf

Maddie and I were reading a few books tonight, one of them being the 'W' book. We came upon a 'wolf', which I thought Maddie would tell me is a puppy because that's what it looks like. This is how it went...

Me: That's a wolf.
Maddie (thinking): A wolf blow the piggy's house down.
Me: He did?
Maddie: Ya, on little Einsteins he blew the piggy's house down.
Me: How did he blow it down?
Maddie: He huffed and he puffed and he BLOOOWWWWWWWW!
Me: Did the house blow down?
Maddie: Ya, the piggy very sad. He needs a blankie and a 'p-pie-er' (What Maddie calls a pacifier)

Too funny! I didn't even know Maddie knew the story of The Three Little Pigs. I hadn't ever told it to her. Thank goodness for Little Einsteins for teaching my daughter everything she needs to know! :)

I love how Maddie has these elaborate conversations, and the things she comes up with!

Smiles

Here are some smiles from my little Chloe bug! I feel like an awful mom because I probably have a gazillion pictures of Maddie, especially at this age, I was taking them everyday! I forget now (and it seems I don't have as much time on my hands with a two-year old running around too). But excuses don't make it better... Chloe smiles all day long, and I just smile back and talk to her. I don't think to grab my camera, like I did with Maddie. Is this normal with your second child, or am I just a slacker of a mom?! I think part of the reason she was so happy is because she was supposed to be napping!!! She is starting to act more and more like her sister... here comes more trouble!!!

A quick shout out to 'papa'! Happy Birthday, Larry! Hope you have a great one today!!! Maddie has been singing 'happy birthday to papa' all morning long. She thinks because it's his birthday she ought to have cupcakes! She is determined to get a cupcake when we go to Costco after her nap! :) Anyway, we're sorry we couldn't be there to help you celebrate, but we'll see you in a month!!!

Two Little Lady Bugs

**WARNING:**
TOTAL PICTURE OVERLOAD!!!
Choosing a Halloween costume was interesting this year... Last year, Maddie was Tinkerbell and absolutely loved it! She even asked to be Tinkerbell again, but me being the weird mom I am, told her she couldn't be the same thing twice in a row. Not that it really mattered anyway, Maddie changed her mind on what she wanted to be a couple times a day. For those of you who know Maddie, know that she is WAY into princesses and Disney characters. So I was hoping she would want to be Minnie Mouse this year. Nope, she wanted to be Goofy, Pluto, or Donald Duck. Are you kidding me?! All male characters! For Chloe, I just wanted to find her a warm sleeper that could be pulled off as a costume since she is still so young and I found a lady bug sleeper. So, after Maddie's indecisiveness lasted for way too long and we were getting down to the wire, I found a way cute lady bug costume for her too from Babystyle. I do love that store, although it can be pretty pricey! But lucky for us, the costume was on sale! It was funny because when people would ask Maddie what she was going to be for Halloween, she changed her answer each time... a witch, a pirate, Cinderella, Minnie Mouse... Yep, she started telling people she was going to be Minnie Mouse! All I could do was laugh! I was so ready to go out and buy her a Minnie Mouse costume because I had tried so long to talk her into that one. But I wasn't going to buy two costumes for her, ok, I probably would have, but I decided not to because I didn't have time to make it out to the Disney Store, and didn't want to buy it online and HOPE it fit! Plus, with my luck she'd change her mind the next day anyway. So, after my long, weird, dumb story, I ended up with the two cutest little lady bugs ever! (Sorry to those of you who have kids who were lady bugs too... but I am entitled to my own opinion and am TOTALLY biased of my girls!)I didn't get any good pictures of Chloe. By the time we put her costume on she was fussy and ready to sleep. Once I finished taking her picture, she went to bed for the night... yes, a little early, but hey, she still slept until 6am!!

As for Maddie, the usual, she just wiggled and wiggled. That girl can not sit still if her life depended on it! But, they looked cute anyway!
Maddie had a blast out trick-or-treating! She walked the whole way and was so good at the whole 'routine'; knocking on the door, saying "Trick-or-Treat", and even showed off her good manners and was sure to tell them "Thank You!" I guess if I have to have a very active two-year old, who doesn't have the best listening skills or sharing skills, at least she has good manners, right?!

Carving Pumpkins

It was so fun carving pumpkins with Maddie this year. A big thanks to Chloe for sleeping through the whole thing, as it would have been difficult trying to pick her up without getting goopy hands on her! :)I was very impressed with Maddie. I just scraped the sides of the pumpkin and she pretty much cleaned that thing out herself!! She just put her hands and scooper straight in there and got to work!!

She was so good at separating the goop from the seeds!
I explained to her that we would separate the seeds, clean them off, cook them, and then we could eat them. She just jumped to the last thing and took a little taste straight off her scooper! Yuck! I told her to hurry and spit them out, but I don't think it really even phased her! Silly girl!
When daddy got home, he did the actual 'carving' for us! Not my favorite part at all!! Maddie chose a bat... so a bat is what she got! You can see a picture of the final result on my next post(hopefully) because silly me forgot to take a picture with Maddie and her finished pumpkin! But I think I got the pumpkin in a few of the pictures with the girls and their Halloween costumes!
