Monster Child

Proof that my sweet, innocent little baby is turning into a monster! Where did I go wrong? It was not that long ago I was saying what a good little girl Chloe is. So easy going, happy all the time, just the sweetest little thing ever! What happened? If somebody finds my sweet little Chloe, please bring her back and replace her for this monster!!! ;)

The reason I was even videoing (is that even a word???), is because Chloe was being so sweet with Sam. She leaned in and kissed him, but he had slobber all over his mouth so she took his burp cloth and cleaned him up. They were both giggling, it was the cutest thing ever!!! Obviously I missed that "cute" moment. Watch in the video, if Maddie even gets close to Chloe, she screams. Then she proceeded to hit Maddie on the head with Sam's toy. Watch her face after she does it, she thinks it's funny! Chloe is turning into a monster! Sometimes the "monster" makes me laugh, but I have to hold back the laughter in front of her. I swear she walks around sometimes thinking of how she can be naughty. It's one thing to the next. This girl is B.U.S.Y. Maybe it's the age?? I hope this "phase" doesn't last long! I've already had enough!

On another note, we were looking back at old blog posts yesterday and it made me a bit sad. I miss Maddie as a 1 and 2 year old. She said and did the funniest things. She was hilarious!!! Watching this video of Maddie talking (about the same age Chloe is now) also made me sad that Chloe still doesn't talk. Kids this age say the funniest things and all I get is whine, whine, whine all day long! It seems like she's getting worse. She is saying less words then she was before. They're reevaluating her at her 2 year check-up in August. Maybe she will need speech therapy after all. Speaking of "whine, whine, whine"... I'm done whining now! :)

Chalk

We are finally starting to get some Spring weather here, but not much! The weather is a bit bi-polar lately. We get a really nice day or two, then a storm with rain/snow/hail. We've had quite a few days of warm weather, but it's SO windy outside, I don't want to go out and play!

Anyway, we took advantage of the weather and colored with chalk outside! Thanks to Aunt Monique and "Seattle Grandma" (as Maddie calls her), who gave the girls a package of chalk to play with so they each had their own!

It started to get pretty windy on this day, so we didn't stay out long, but the girls had fun anyway!

Sam- 3 Months

I know every mom says this, but I really can't believe it's been 3 months since I gave birth to this adorable little boy of mine!!  Time really goes by way too fast!
Sam is such a sweet baby, full of smiles. Although I won't sugar-coat it either, he is my hardest baby yet! Still a good baby, but we have rough moments. We're still trying to work some things out with the doctors... I'll spare you the details! :)
Thankfully, those rough moments happen during the day. And although both my girls slept through the night by 6 weeks, Sam is almost there. He does his last feeding anywhere between 7-8pm and won't eat again until around 6am. Which would be really nice if he could just figure out how to put his pacifier back in his mouth, or learn to sleep without it. We've had a couple nights the past week or two that he's done great and hasn't woken up at all. It was  wonderful!!!
Sammy is the sweatiest baby. Anybody else ever dealt with this? My girls never were like Sam is. He always has the sweatiest hands and feet, which then collect fuzz and start to stink! Seriously the weirdest thing! He gets lots of baths, and I am constantly cleaning his hands and toes out with a baby wipe. Thankfully, Sam loves his baths!!!
Although Sam still sleeps for most of the day, he is starting to have longer stretches of being awake. He's starting to grab onto and play with toys. Sam is also startled pretty easily and does not like hearing the girls' loud, high-pitched squeals while he's eating!
Chloe is still completely obsessed with her brother, and babies in general. She is always right by him and makes sure he has his pacifier. This is not always a good thing when Sam is sleeping. Sam doesn't get much tummy time (he only likes it for a couple minutes anyway) or floor time, as I'm sure you can imagine why. I can never leave Sam on the floor or on the couch... Chloe will completely smother him with kisses and loves! Sam got his first "goose-egg" on his forehead the other night from Chloe leaning in for a kiss and she slipped! Poor baby!!!
We just love our little Sammy! I love dressing him up in blue, I love having a boy in the house, I love cuddling with him, I love this sweet baby boy!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday after naps we had a little Easter egg hunt for the girls.  Since we experienced our first WHITE Easter, we just hid the eggs inside in the family room. There are only so many places to hide eggs in the family room where 2 little girls would be able to find them, and reach them!

When it comes to finding things, it just isn't one of Maddie's strengths. It's actually a pretty big weakness. I swear sometimes she acts like she's blind! Chloe, on the other hand, is pretty darn good at finding things! I was very impressed at how well she could find those eggs. She kept up with Maddie pretty darn good. Chloe almost found as many eggs as Maddie, and we didn't help either one of them.  Chloe even gave a few of her pink eggs to Maddie because she heard Maddie say she wanted the pink ones. It was pretty darn cute!

Oh, and Sam just slept through the whole thing! Maybe next year he'll get into it a little more... or at least stay awake for it! :)

Easter Morning

Another picture overload coming your way.

We had a great Easter morning.  These holidays are getting so fun as the kids get a little older and start to understand and really enjoy them!  Maddie's already telling me that maybe the Easter bunny will come again tomorrow, or maybe next week.  I guess she doesn't quite understand THAT concept!

Chloe will hardly look at the camera anymore and I'm lucky to catch a smile for the camera when she does.  So we get what we get. She is quite the stubborn little girl these days and thinks it's funny! She does the opposite of what we ask and then has the naughtiest little giggle!  It's a little humorous... sometimes!

Chloe went straight for her baby doll and hasn't put it down since!  She now has 2 of her "favorite" babies that she carries around.  She is so sweet with her babies and takes good care of them! She also got a slinky, peeps, and a few chocolate goodies.

Maddie loves her new game, Uno Moo! We have played it SO many times, and she absolutely loves it, and totally understands the concept of the game.  She is very into games and puzzles right now.  Maddie also got a slinky, peeps, and a few chocolate goodies.  Maddie is obsessed with pink so you'll notice her stuff is always pink and Chloe usually get's purple so we can tell their stuff apart.

Sam doesn't know any different so he got a piggy bank to go with his room decor (when I finally kick Chloe out of this room and get to decorating) and a little toy.  Chloe is sure Sam always has his toy right by him.  He's really starting to like his toys and grabbing onto to them.  They can keep him entertained for a while!

Mike and Chloe even picked me up some pretty, yummy smelling flowers from Costco Saturday afternoon!

Coloring Eggs

The girls colored and dyed their eggs Saturday afternoon. They had such a great time!! Maddie was a pro!!
Chloe actually did a really good job too. You'll notice she is crying in at least every other picture. She didn't want anyone touching her egg or her cup. She threw the biggest fit each time Mike would switch her dyed egg out for a fresh white one. And, well, let's be honest, it's tough being almost 2, and the middle child! Poor Chloe spends a lot of time crying these days... life's rough! :)
**Whisk idea thanks to the Family Fun magazine!!! :)
