Disneyland- Day 1

We took SO many pictures at Disneyland, and since this blog is my journal and scrapbook as well, there will be lots of them! I decided to split it up into each day, so here is Day 1 (Friday, September 18th).

Maddie on the Jungle Safari Cruise. We did this one twice, both girls really liked it.
All of us on Pirates of the Caribbean. The girls weren't big fans of this ride. Maddie hid her head the whole time, which I found funny, this girl has no fear on all those fast roller coasters, swinging ferris wheels, and on top of that, LOVES pirates, but she wouldn't open her eyes for the ride! We went on this one twice too, we just bribed the girls by going on It's a Small World over and over and over again! Chloe seemed to like this Pirates ride much better the 2nd time around.
Maddie about to go on Big Thunder Mountain with Daddy, until she was rejected because she was BARELY 1/2 an inch too short for the ride. She was devastated! She had seen this fast train roller coaster on her Disneyland movie and was so excited to ride it. (Don't you worry, we went to Wal Mart on our day off on Sunday and found her some taller shoes so she could make it on those taller rides! And she loved them!)
Riding the carousel, personally not my favorite... you don't go to Disneyland to ride a carousal, but the girls love them!
Maddie wanted her face painted from one of those stands they have there. There were so many kids there that had them, she had already been scoping it out! There was pirate one, pretty cool looking, but really, on my little princess in her Minnie Mouse dress? I thought for sure she would choose that one... thankfully, she wanted the flower! :)
Maddie & Daddy going on the Matterhorn.
Water break before going on It's A Small World, it was HOT!!
Toon Town Jail! Goofy was running through here playing with the kids just before this, pretty cute!
Chloe wasn't so into the characters. She preferred just to run off on her own so you won't see her in many (if any, besides this one) pictures with them.
Dad & Maddie on Buzz Lightyear ride.TWINS!!
Mom & Chloe on Dumbo... she loved it!
Dad & Maddie on Dumbo. We did this ride a few times.

Las Vegas

Ha ha! Makes it sound like we actually went to Las Vegas! Well, we did! But only for an hour or two, driving through on our way to Disneyland. We did stop off for lunch at Treasure Island because we knew Maddie would love the big pirate ship, which she did! We ate at their buffet, which the girls loved! Chloe was free, but I'm pretty sure for the amount of food she ate there we should have paid for at least a child plate! I should have taken a picture of her, and her mess! Maddie just ate a big plate of watermelon, and a couple bites of mac & cheese, I guess Chloe made up for her!

Flower Girl

Mike's aunt, Jenny got married on Thursday, and they asked Maddie to be one of their flower girls (there was 3)! Maddie had never been a flower girl before, but she was SO excited! It's SO her 'thing'! It was fun watching her during the ceremony, she was still dropping petals on the ground, along with the whole walk back up the steps after the ceremony! After the bride and groom kissed and everyone clapped, Maddie was pretty excited because she was sure they were all clapping for her. And why shouldn't they be?? It's all about Maddie! Little Miss Center-of-Attention! :)

She's asked to go back to Jenny & Dave's wedding a few times since then, as if it's just something to can drive to, and it'll happen again! She loved being a flower girl!

Gateway

My cousin, Colleen and her daughter Sevrine came up to visit last weekend over Labor Day. We had such a fun time playing with them, but the visit seemed to go by very fast! We went to the Swiss Days up in Midway, went to the Gateway, played in the water there, and ate way too much, but yummy food the whole weekend! The only thing I actually got pictures of was the girls playing at Gateway, but I did take a whole bunch there!! I didn't bring Chloe's swim suit. She gets weird about water splashing her. Loves the pool and the bath, but anything "splashing" or "squirting" she's a baby about. But daddy put her in anyway. She actually liked it for a while, but just kept sitting down, keeping her distance, I think!Laying on the ground to "get warm". Silly girls!

First Day Of Preschool

Maddie's first day of Preschool was August 25th, so I'm a little behind. She goes to Challenger, a little bit of a drive for us, but she LOVES it! She goes twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Every Tuesday they have show-and-tell. Maddie has a hard time narrowing it down to only bringing one thing rather than two or three.
We have to wake her up every preschool day and push her along to get ready, so if she looks tired in these pictures, she is! We have to leave by 8am to get her there on time!

I'm so glad she LOVES preschool! Next year, we'll put her in 3 days a week for sure to get her ready for Kindergarten!

Ikea

The girls and I took a little visit to Ikea a few weeks ago... one of my favorite stores! Maddie kept laying in all the beds, took her shoes off and even got under the covers sometimes, then wanted me to take her picture! She was pretty funny, quite the little poser!

Pirate Island

We've been watching this place every time we go to Costco, waiting for it to open. We had no idea what it was, but anything that has to do with Pirate's, Maddie wants it! As soon as it opened last month, we were there (twice, even)! It was a pretty fun place to go, and the food wasn't too bad either. The first time we went, we told Maddie the pirates didn't let you play until after you ate, it worked great. The 2nd time, we sat too close to the play area and it was pretty much a lost cause to try to get her to eat after that. We won't make that mistake again! Here's some pictures from our 2nd visit. This time with Uncle Tim, Auntie Deb, cousin Aubrey, and cousin TJ's daughter, Ava.

Ava's face cracks me up in this picture, I had to post it! This girl has the best facial expressions!!!We didn't get into to eat until almost 8pm, Chloe's bedtime, she just couldn't stay awake no matter how exciting it was there! She put her blanket up on the table, laid her head down, and was asleep before our food even came! Pretty darn cute, especially for a little girl who doesn't usually just fall asleep anywhere like this!
