Halloween

We had a good Halloween this year. It's fun as the girls are getting older and are getting more into it. OK, really, as Maddie's getting more into it, although Chloe LOVED all the candy to play in! :)

It started out with Maddie's Challenger class party. They had a parade, did a skit, and sang their Halloween songs. So cute! Although, I missed most of it because I found out about it late. I'm still a little bitter about it... but I got a few pictures when they gathered back in their class for songs and then as they lined up to go play on the playground. Maddie was so excited I was there!
She lost an ear.... :)

That night (Thursday), we went up to Draper to go to my aunt Karen's trunk or treat. Maddie always has fun with Natalie! She gets so excited anytime we're going to see "Mat-a-wee"!Trying to get all the girls to look at the camera, and stay in their "spot" was a bit of a joke!

Halloween night we took the girls out trick-or-treating for a bit, then came back home to hand out candy! Maddie had a blast! She was disappointed in herself if she forgot to say any of her lines she practiced: Trick-or-treat, Thank you, and Happy Halloween!
My little Tinkerbell! This was Maddie's costume 2 years ago, and it fit Chloe this year, so why buy a new one... right?! :)The girls, swimming in their candy! They had fun just playing with it all. I don't think they actually ate that much of it! It's sitting in a bowl now in the top of a cupboard... I guess waiting for me to throw it away so we don't eat it! (I'm not gonna lie, we already picked out our favorites!) :)

Maddie- Three and a Half Years

Maddie will be 3 1/2 years next week. It's so crazy how fast this year has gone by! I can't believe we're almost halfway through November! I've been trying to write down all the funny things Maddie says because I forget them so fast. She's been pretty darn funny lately!

(Maddie getting checked at the doctor. If you had a cough, you had to wear a mask.)

* "Bye Daddy, Merry Halloween!"

* "It's snowing outside, Mom! When it snows, people say 'Happy New Year'. Happy New Year, Mom!!"

* "My grandma lives in Seattle. But I don't live in Seattle, I just live on Planet Earth!"

* "It's my pleasure!"

* "Now just take off the lid, your majesty."
* "I just love crumbled eggs!" (scrambled eggs)

* "Chloe, stop pulling my hair!!! I'm not going to be your friend anymore! I quit!"

* "It's sunny outside, but my teacher just drew one big cloud today. She's embarrassing!"

* "Your dinner's ready... Order up!"

* During Sacrament Meeting at Church, the room is completely quiet, Maddie's voice is very loud, "Mommy, you have very nice boobies", she says, as she's RUBBING THEM!* "Why is she so mad? I get mad at you some days and you get mad at me some days. But why is she so mad?"

* "I'm a big girl, I can do it myself!"

* "Now I know how, cuz I just learned!"

* "I'm a da-dician, to do tricks." (a magician)

* "I want to get a ticket for Disneyland. Can you just ask the policeman for one? Cuz he gives out tickets."

Chloe- 15 Months

Chloe is busy, busy, busy these days! She is constantly on the go. Church is officially no fun with her... unless you want to chase a child around! And to think she can't even go to nursery until February... this might be a long couple months! :)Chloe is most excited to see Maddie (aka "sister") in the morning, after her nap, when we pick Maddie up from school, etc. She follows Maddie around all day long and copies everything she does. Maddie, for the most part, is pretty patient with her, but sometimes Chloe pulls her hair or messes up her toys!

Chloe is so fun to ask questions! She'll usually shake her head and say "yes", but every once in a while, mostly when Maddie tells her to, she'll shake her head no and say "no".
I was tickling Chloe on the floor a week or two ago and noticed she has 2 new teeth, molars, one on each side! Holy Cow!! When did those come in???? Maybe while we were sick so we didn't notice a difference in her mood??? The girl has been drooling like crazy, that might explain it! She still only has 3 teeth on the bottom, a little lop-sided! And all 4 on top.
I can't believe my little Chloe-bugsy is almost 15 months old (on Friday)!!! She has her check-up next week so I'll post her stats then.

Family Photos

Last month my family came into town to see my brother Lamar. Not only did he bless his baby, but he's off in Afghanistan now! We wanted to get family pictures taken before he left, and Katie was wonderful enough to take individual family photos as well so now we all have great Christmas card photos! :) The fall colors were BEAUTIFUL!!! The background looks fake! It was freezing out that morning, but we pretended like we were warm and loving it! :)

My brother, Lamar, and dad, Larry.

My parents with all 6 of their grandkids (and 2 more on the way!)

My brother Lamar, his wife Sarah, and their boys Miles and Nico.

My sister Brooklynn, her husband Parker, and their kids Jackson & Kate.

And my family...

Today

I mentioned before that Chloe has never been one to sleep in our bed. Maddie on the other hand, comes in sometime during the night/morning almost every night. But since she's been sick, Chloe's been in our bed the past couple nights as well. She and Mike both woke up at 4:30am and he couldn't go back to sleep so they went out in the family room, and eventually fell back asleep. Maddie woke up around 6:30, realized daddy was no longer in bed, and joined them out on the couch. I'm not gonna lie, it was a pretty comfy hour of sleep I had alone in the bed!

This is how I found them....
This is how I found the girls while I was making lunch... This makes my day! I love just watching the girls really playing together and getting along! I think it'll only get better as they get older and can play together even more!
Then the doorbell rang, and once again, another surprise from grandma! She sent a box FULL of baby clothes, blanket, shoes, and socks for baby! It was like Christmas for me! :)

Maddie was pretty disappointed when she opened the box and saw all the blue clothes, but once she dug to the bottom, she was so excited to find some puppets and a book just for the girls from grandma! We read that book at least 4 or 5 times in a row! My girls LOVE to read!

A HUGE thank you to grandma!!!!!

When daddy got home we had some yummy taco soup for dinner. A pretty low key day for us, but a good one while we're trying to get over our colds! :)

Sick

We've all been sick here for over a week now, and it's no fun! It wasn't so bad up until this last weekend. We were all just congested and going through lots of Kleenex. And just when we thought we were getting better, things went downhill fast!Maddie was over it the quickest, although now she has a slight cough. Mike and I actually seem much better today too.Poor Chloe is a whole other story! Although we thought she was just about over it too, she got worse on Friday. Last night was pretty miserable. She slept fine... if she was in MY bed! Which is so strange for Chloe, she normally does not sleep well in our bed, ever! To her, our bed means play time! But that was not the case last night! I ended up getting pretty much shoved off the bed and was pretty uncomfortable so at about 4am I tried to move her back to her own bed. Well, she woke up crying and wouldn't stop until I brought her back into my bed and she went right to sleep. Needless to say, I was uncomfortable the rest of the time! She seems to have gotten worse even as the day has progressed. She only took a 45 minute nap this morning (normally takes at least a 2 hour nap). It was a struggle getting her down for her afternoon nap, she just wanted to be held. She slept off and on for about 2 hours. Poor baby can hardly keep her eyes open, as you can see in these pictures, they were about half open all day today. I wasn't going to take her to the doctor, but her fever came back and she still wasn't sleeping. I didn't want to take a 3am visit to the ER like I did last time she was sick, so I decided to take her in... and I'm glad I did! My poor Chloe bugsy has her first ear infection in her right ear, possibly strep throat (they didn't test it because she had to have antibiotics anyway for her ear infection, but he said it was pretty red and puffy), and something else about her nasal. I didn't hear that part of it. But we have some amoxicillan now to take care of all three. Hopefully we'll get back to normal very soon! I will admit, I have enjoyed spending the entire day cuddling with Chloe! I don't get to do that much anymore now that she's so independent! On another note, last week, on Sunday night, during a family dinner at my house Chloe got upset on 2 different occasions within a 2-hour time span and passed out. We took her into the after hours clinic and then for a follow-up with her own pediatrician on Thursday and found out she has "breath-holding spells". Basically in a nut shell, about 5% of 'normal' children can hold their breath long enough to actually pass out. Lucky me, Chloe is one of them! Scariest thing ever!! I hope they don't happen again, but chances are, they will! When they do happen, I'm supposed to lay her on the ground and walk away, but keeping her in eye sight. Basically giving her no attention for them so she doesn't do them more often. Scary, huh???

Now on a happy note, Chloe has been the funniest little girl lately and I thought I'd note a few of the funny things she does (that I can remember, anyway!)

*Chloe LOVES to read books. But even more, loves to be read to! Especially if you're sitting, she'll find your lap, and she always has a book in hand! But she can't sit next to you, she has to sit right in the middle of your lap! She will keep climbing around until she finds her comfortable spot, which is getting difficult for me with my belly sticking out these days!

*As I mentioned, Chloe is always carrying a book, well, you will also almost always see her wearing a "bracelet". A bracelet is anything that can go around her wrist. Sometimes this girl gets pretty creative!

*If you ask Chloe a question, she'll shake her head up and down and say, "yes". No matter what you ask her, she'll usually say "yes". Unless you ask her if she wants to go night-night, she may just laugh and run to daddy as fast as she can! Smart little girl!!

*If you ask her, "Chloe, do you want nummy nums?" She'll say, "yes", and then while she's eating it she'll say "Mmmmmm!"

*Since Chloe's been sick, she's been very slobbery (maybe teeth coming in too???) She figured out how to blow bubbles with her own saliva, and did it over and over and over again yesterday! We were cracking up! We did catch it on video tape, but I have no idea how to put that onto my computer!

Onto Maddie... she is always saying some pretty darn funny things! Here are a few of them I can remember:

"I'm almost done making my clusters."

"I'm trying to exercise with my strong muscles."

"I am such a great sister!"

"Thank you Chloe, that was very kind of you!"

"I love going Trick-or-Treating... even I love ghost-es!"

"Mom, come say hi to my friends, Pinkeye and Bloodsy"
"Chloe-bugsy is my berry best friend."
